Recovery Coaching

Recovery coaches will help individuals with psychosocial disabilities become more independent, participate in social activities, and participate in the economy. People will receive help managing the complicated problems of daily life and gaining greater control over their lives. Through partnerships that facilitate recovery and expert coaching, individuals will receive assistance in developing their capacity, which includes resilience and strengths. A recovery plan will be created, planned, carried out, and reviewed by recovery coaches in cooperation with individuals, their families, carers, and other services.

The duties of a recovery coach may include:

  • Development of recovery-enabling relationships, based on hope.
  • Assistance with recovery planning
  • Coaching to enhance recovery skills and personal capacity, including motivation, strengths, resilience, and decision-making.
  • Cooperation with the larger system of supports to guarantee that supports are recovery-oriented.
  • Support for engagement with the NDIS, including assistance with plan implementation; and documentation and reporting
